Meet our Flashback Pop Quiz Host
Kenny Greenberg, circa 1952, Chicago, Illinois
Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Kenny enjoyed a classic Baby Boomer childhood… riding bikes and swimming with friends in the summer… snow sledding and ice skating with friends in the winter… and when he wasn’t outside playing with friends he was inside watching TV or listening to WLS on his very own red plastic transistor radio.
These days Kenny has fun posting Flashback Pop Quizzes on social media networks. It’s a great way to keep in touch with fellow Baby Boomers and share all sorts of experiences and memories from when we were kids in the 1950s and 60s. It’s literally a blast from the past and usually a lot of fun!
Little Golden Books were first published in 1942. Priced at just 25 cents and sold where people shopped every day, they caused an instant sensation and were soon purchased by the hundreds of thousands. Created by such talented writers as Margaret Wise Brown (author of Goodnight Moon) and Richard Scarry, Little Golden Books have helped millions of Boomers develop a lifelong love of reading.
The first snow this winter has finally arrived in Princeton. Time for a hot breakfast… just like the ones I used to know! What was your favorite hot breakfast when you were a kid?
According to the comments from my Boomer Memories Facebook Group, Oatmeal was the favorite hot breakfast, followed closely by Cream of Wheat.
